Patricia Early

Patricia Early is the Language Lab Coordinator for the Department of Modern and Classical Languages at Georgia State University, where her responsibilities include assisting faculty members in the incorporation of technology into the foreign language curriculum. As a Ph.D. candidate in Instructional Technology, her research interests revolve around technology use for second language learning, particularly in the areas of reduction of affective barriers to language production and the inclusion of rich media and foreign language materials into the curriculum. She is a member of the International Association for Language Learning Technology (IALLT), the Southeastern Association of Language Learning Technology (SEALLT), the Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT), as well as Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Kappa Delta honor societies.

 

Peter Swanson is an Assistant Professor of Foreign Language Education in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages at Georgia State University. His responsibilities include the recruitment of students to the program, teaching  language and education courses, and research. Additionally, Dr Swanson served on the Georgia Taskforce as a member and author to compose a response to the state’s recent change of the requirements to earn a high school diploma. Currently, he is conducting research in the areas of teachers’ sense of efficacy teaching languages, teacher identity and socialization practices, and assessment.  Recently, Dr Swanson has published findings from his research in the Journal of Vocational Behavior, the Review, Dimensions, and the Central States Report.
